From Behind is a study in what the eye finds when it slows down.
During a live model session, it was the back that held Jamie's attention — not as anatomy, but as architecture. The shoulder blades, the curve of the spine, the planes of muscle and stillness: shapes within shapes, geometric and organic at once. This piece leans into that fascination fully, amplifying what was seen into something closer to sculpture than sketch.
Warm terra cotta and burnished amber fill the canvas in broad, confident planes, separated by pale, glowing lines that trace the body's natural geometry. At the edges, soft violet and cool slate recede, giving the figure weight and presence without competing with it. Flashes of turquoise surface like a quiet pulse beneath the skin.
The result is a figure that feels both intimate and monumental — a back that commands the room.
